The Women’s Hockey Tribune was formed in August, 2019 to bring the best women’s hockey coverage to fans and players alike. A website devoted to in-depth analysis, news breaking and featured stories, TWHT should be your number one stop for women’s hockey news!

Our Story

It all started with an email, when Bill Flanagan reached out to Alex Thomas. Flanagan, the father of USWNT player and former Boston College star Kali Flanagan wanted to help start a site that provides the best and most honest women’s hockey coverage. Thomas, who covers Women’s Hockey East for Northeastern, Holy Cross and Boston University, agreed that a news site was needed. Together, they started The Women’s Hockey Tribune

Meet the Team!

Alex Thomas:

A 2016 graduate of Springfield College, Alex has a long history as a broadcaster and writer at various levels in hockey. Thomas created and is the leader writer for ‘The Oilers Rig’, a blog devoted to the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers. Thomas is also a featured writer for Boston Hockey Now and previously at ‘Murphy’s Hockey Law’. In addition to his writing work, Thomas is a play-by-play broadcaster for Northeastern University, Holy Cross, UMass Lowell, Boston University and the USPHL’s Boston Junior Bruins.

Thomas was the play-by-play broadcaster for the first ever Northeastern Women’s Hockey NCAA home game, calling the Huskies 3-2 overtime loss to Cornell.
