Meet The Teams: Team Knight

Meet The Teams: Team Knight
October 1, 2019

The second weekend stop of the ‘Dream Gap Tour’ is this weekend. The PWHPA will be at Cyclones Arena in Hudson, New Hampshire for the three day event. The game action starts on Saturday, with Team Flanagan taking on Team Stecklein at 2:00 pm.

At 5:00 pm, Team Knight will battle Team Lamoureaux for a spot in Sunday’s Championship game. Hilary Knight, captain of the team, will lead her star-studded lineup into battle, while Caroline Ouellette will serve as the head coach of this team.

Ouellette, a four-time Olympic Gold Medalist, brings a winning pedigree to the bench. In addition to her Olympic success, she won six Gold Medals at the IIHF World Women’s Championships.

Her coaching experience includes time as an assistant with the University of Minnesota Duluth during the 2007-08 season. In addition, she assisted Team Canada’s Women’s National Under-18 Team against Team USA in August of 2008.

In addition to Knight, Team Canada star Mélodie Daoust will suit up for Team Knight. She scored a pair of goals for Team Poulin at the event in Toronto in September.

Knight is the only member of Team USA’s Gold Medal winner at the 2018 Winter Olympics, but she’ll team up with a number of her rivals from South Korea.

Mélodie Daoust, Geneviève Lacasse, Marie-Philip Poulin, Jill Saulnier and Laura Stacey are among the many Canadian Olympians on Team Knight. They all won silver in 2018 in South Korea.

Here is the full roster for Team Knight: Erin Ambrose, Genevieve Bannon, Ann-Sophie Bettez, Emmanuelle Blais, Catherine Daoust, Mélodie Daoust, Kim Deschenes, Marie-Soleil Deschenes, Melanie Desrochers, Karell Emard, Vanessa Gagnon, Hilary Knight, Geneviève Lacasse, Sarah Lefort, Emerance Maschmeyer, Marie-Philip Poulin, Josiane Pozzebon, Lauriane Rougeau, Jill Sauliner, Laura Stacey and Taylor Willard.
